The free account is most appropriate for groups that are cost sensitive and need only one or a small number of members that can create calendars and contacts. In addition, the user will be able to download a Windows application that will allow creating, editing, and viewing multiple calendars and contacts on their PC. Viewing modes include day, week, and month with day side-by-side, and multiple calendars merges with colors indicating calendar membership. These calendars and contacts are available even when there is no Internet access (e.g. on a laptop on an airplane). When Internet access is available, the calendars and contacts are synchronized with the ClearSync server and under user control, shared with others in their sharing group. The Silver account also includes downloadable Palm applications that allow creating, editing, and viewing multiple calendars and contacts on their PalmOS handheld. The Palm calendar application includes support for viewing calendars individually, side-by-side, or merged with color indications of which calendar an event is on. The one-button Palm sync will sync the Palm to a PC and also the PC to the ClearSync server. Silver account holders without handhelds can sync to the ClearSync server with a single mouse click. This level of service is often selected by those who want to share using their PC but either do not use a handheld device or have a Palm handheld device that does not have wireless capability. Cost-sensitive groups will typically have one or two Silver account holders and the rest free accounts. The Silver account is for those who do not have a need to share data from their Palm device while away from their PC.

The Gold account includes all the features of the Silver account. In addition, users will be able to sync data wirelessly, using ClearSync Wireless Refresh. Gold account users will have protection on all of the data transmitted via encrypted communications. The Gold account includes technical support by email and telephone. A Gold account costs $59.95 per year and $29.95 per year for additional users purchased at the same time. Thus a two-person sharing group can have ClearSync Gold for $89.90 per year.

The Gold account is most appropriate for corporate users or individuals who need access to their latest shared calendar and contact information while away from their PC. The handheld applications work well on PalmOS smart phones from Kyocera and Palm, especially the Palm Treo 650. On these devices, wireless syncing can be done through the cell phone network, although a data plan is required from your cell phone company.
